Ceramic Skill Exchange Residency at Aura Pottery, Chandigarh-India, invites practicing ceramic artists to apply for a 8 day residency program to share and learn from each participant. The residency will offer one day per artist to present their work, give demonstrations and conduct a full day workshop in the studio to showcase and share their skills with other participants. Each artist will be required to apply with their CV and portfolio and participate in the residency upon selection.
The residency will be based out of a beautiful communal ceramic studio on a 3 acre lush green farm. The program is designed to ignite inspiration and promises a dynamic experience that fosters creativity, skill development, and collaboration among participants.
Each artist must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a ceramic artist. The residency will be accepting 8 artists with varied skills so as to have diverse information and knowledge to share among the group.
Each artist may present their work and journey in any format, but a PPT would be preferable, which will be screened daily in the Aura theater room. They can share a personal narrative, recounting their journey from their initial introduction to ceramics to their current artistic practice. Artists may share pivotal moments, challenges, and triumphs they’ve encountered along the way, offering a candid, authentic portrayal of their artistic development, which is sure to be inspiring and motivating for all attending artists.
A well-equipped ceramics studio serves as the residency’s home base, featuring ample workspace, wheels, tools, kiln and materials. Artists are welcome to bring their own specific material to showcase their particular skill. Two studio assistants shall be present to help each artist setup the workplace for their specific day of sharing and workshop.
Aura has lush green outdoor spaces, lawns, a circle of silence, an organic kitchen garden and an open air swimming pool for participants to enjoy. A 400 meter walking path encircles the property for strolls and morning walks. Our pets keep you company off and on when you’re enjoying the outdoors.
*All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and free WiFi.
*Residency fee is all inclusive and offers stay, three meals and a communal coffee/tea station.
