Pottery in Progress
Currently, Andy is deeply engrossed in her studio, passionately crafting her anticipated collection for the annual showcase. Alongside her distinctive raw ceramics assortment and the creation of elegant table and floor lamps for Diwali, she’s also dedicating time to fashioning tall bottles while experimenting with stamp-based surface designs.
Her creative exploration extends to the incorporation of a diverse array of oxides and textures, breathing life into her latest works. These efforts not only display her artistic prowess but also her commitment to pushing the boundaries of her craft. As progress unfolds, we’ll ensure you’re kept abreast of her journey, offering insights into the evolution of her collection.
Long Pottery Retreat
A resident student, Kirti, joined us back after taking a break for 3 months. After a week of reorientation, she’s found her rhythm again. Her time management between handbuilding and the wheel is commendable. Kirti’s sculptural pieces and surface designs showcase an impressive level of skill. A discernible sense of style has emerged, particularly in her surface decorations.
Recently, she’s transitioned to crafting bowls on the wheel, having mastered the art of throwing cylinders. Currently, Kirti is preparing to bisque fire her creations, and the studio is abuzz with anticipation for the final results. Stay tuned for our next update, as we’ll be sharing snapshots of her glazed pieces, offering a visual insight into her progress and artistic journey.
